The course is addressed to students with an interest in European and Transatlantic affairs, strategic studies and international relations. It provides students with a complete overview of historical evolutions and policy and academic debates on the theme of security on the European continent, with a focus on the period since the end of the Cold War. The examines the role of regional military organizations and alliances as well as individual European states in shaping responses contemporary security challenges.
