Pervasive corruption is a symptom of deeply-rooted underlying challenges in public governance, yet it all-too-easily becomes the headline – undermining the legitimacy of the public domain, and trumping efforts to craft sustainable improvements in governance with high-profile and often counterproductive quick fixes. This short course will lay out a framework for understanding how the underlying causes of corruption vary across different country contexts - and will explore a variety of context-responsive ways of addressing the challenges it poses.
