This two-part seminar is based on a highly successful leadership program Mike White ran for many years (10 years as CEO of Pepsi International and 5 years as CEO of Directv). The program focuses on things that differentiated Mike from his peers as well as things Mike wished he learned sooner that would have helped him grow his career faster (eg. self-awareness and political savvy) and can potentially derail one’s career. The program builds off Mike’ leadership model…Setting the Agenda, Taking Others With You, and Doing it the Right Way. After explaining the model, we will concentrate on business basics like purpose, results, and industry and function importance. We will then focus on four real world career derailers…getting sideways with your boss/peer/team, being blindsided by organizational politics, having the wrong strategy or not executing it well, and finally encountering a dysfunctional corporate culture versus living a values-based leadership approach.
